One of the things I missed about blogland was the fun community memes like Mailbox Monday. I like seeing the new books other bloggers have acquired and it helps keep me in the loop. Although I gave up book blogging for some months, I was still able to obtain some wonderful reads via the publicists and authors as I continued reviewing on Amazon, Barnes and Nobles, Goodreads and LibraryThing.

Trigger Warning: Short Fictions and Disturbances by the most awesome Neil Gaiman arrived courtesy of Harper Collins Publishers.
A Small Indiscretion by Jan Ellison and Hausfrau by Jill Alexander Essbaum both arrived courtesy of LibraryThing.
I won a copy of The Unexpected Consequences of Love by Jill Mansell through Sourcebooks over @ Goodreads.
The Forgetting Place by John Burley arrived via the publisher and My Sweetest Escape by Chelsea M. Cameron is an AmazonVine book.
E-Books
Isabella’s Heiress by N.P. Griffiths arrived courtesy of the publisher.
Wicked, My Love by Susanna Ives arrived via Sourcebooks

I love receiving books in the mail! It happens so rarely these days–probably because I read more via e-reader. I’m curious about Trigger Warning. I enjoy Gaiman’s writing and so know I will at some point give that one a try. Wicked, My Love sounds like it will be good. I hope you enjoy your books!

My favourite from your selection this week, is a ‘no brainer’ and the John Burley book is heading straight for my ‘Want To Read’ list, so thanks for featuring that one 🙂
Corruption in many of our public sector offices and institutions, is a pretty hot topic right now, with ‘whistle-blowers’ being victimised, bullied and even dismissed from their posts, simply for speaking out.
Mental health in particular comes in for some pretty heavy criticism, as much of the responsibility is taken away from the specialised institutions and placed firmly out in the community. In England specifically, we do still maintain three high security mental health hospitals, but they too are under much scrutiny right now.
I am really looking forward to reading this book and thanks for sharing.

Yvonne, I agree, the John Burley book looks very good. Isn’t it ironic the backlash against those who speak out? Corruption runs deep, and I think will always be a hot topic.
