Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came in their mailbox during the last week. Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists.

Mondays are always nicer when books are involved right? This past weekend flew right on by and I ended up going to the bookstore on a whim and to my local library to get some research done for a class assignment. The library visit was extra nice because once a month they have someone come and play the piano that is set up by one of the reading areas. It was really nice to browse the shelves with soft, live piano music playing in the background.

I took the above Go Away I’m Reading pic at my local Barnes and Noble and I’m tempted to grab this little sign next time I pop in. I think it would look nice sitting on my bookcase.

For this weeks MM post I am highlighting two books….

The publishers over @ HarperCollins always offer me some fantastic books. This time they provided a review copy of A Bookmarked Death: A Delhi Laine Mystery by Judi Culbertson.

The next book is more of a collectible for my shelves.
While at Barnes I couldn’t help myself and grabbed a copy of The Inventions, Researches and Writings of Nikola Tesla (Barnes and Noble Collectible Editions) by Nikola Tesla, Thomas Commerford Martin (Editor). After viewing a documentary highlighting his life and work, I’ve been looking for a book on Tesla for a while and this one just grabbed my eye.

That is my mailbox for this week. What books have arrived at your doorstep recently?
Enjoy your week!

  1. The Tesla book looks so good.

I have a friend who is always singing his virtues and I really should read this.

The cover design of that one also looks great.

    • Hi Brian, yes, the Tesla book was too nice to resist. I was surprised to find Barnes and Noble had an edition like this one.

    • Yes, it’s too tempting to leave the bookstore without buying at least one book 😉

  2. A Bookmarked Death looks good.

My daughter just did a short paper on Tesla for her science class. He was pretty fascinating.

    • Hi Carol, yes he was definitely a fascinating person. If you haven’t seen it on the History Channel, they featured him on The Men Who Built America.

  4. Hi Naida! I’m so happy to see you blogging again! I love that sign. I need one of those. Lol. The cover of Telsa would have caught my eye. How nice that your library has piano music once in a while. That would be wonderful to browse and listen. I wish we had something like that.

  5. Hi Naida,

The Nikola Tesla book looks good, although this one would probably be more for hubbie. His background is wireless electronics and he has more than once mentioned the ‘Tesla Theory’. I never had any idea what he was talking about to be honest, but now I do, after checking out Nikola Tesla from your post.

Judi Culbertson is a new name to me, but I quite like the sound of the first two stand alone books in the Delhi Laine series. The book you are featuring this week (4th in series), seems to be a follow on from book 3, which doesn’t make it quite so appealing, as you know how bad I am at keeping a series in sequence 🙂

Loving the cover art as well!

Thanks for sharing and enjoy the rest of your week.

    • Hi Yvonne, that’s funny that your husband mentioned the Tesla Theory before. I myself had no idea who he was until I saw a documentary on the history channel. When I called my son over to watch with me, he told me he already knew about Tesla and that he is his favorite inventor.

I accepted the Judi Culbertson book knowing it was a series book, but I hope it does well as a stand alone read because I cannot get into another series right now…lol.
      Enjoy your week! 😉

  8. I think we all could use that sign! I especially need it when I at the ending of a really great read and it seems like then everyone wants to interrupt me. Drives me crazy 🙂 I hope you enjoy both of these books!!

  9. The Tesla book looks really good.

I’m reading a really fun, witty English murder mystery now – The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie – featuring an 11-year-old girl who’s a chemistry genius who tries to outsmart the local detective when she finds a body on her father’s property.
