Mondays are always nicer when books are involved right? This past weekend flew right on by and I ended up going to the bookstore on a whim and to my local library to get some research done for a class assignment. The library visit was extra nice because once a month they have someone come and play the piano that is set up by one of the reading areas. It was really nice to browse the shelves with soft, live piano music playing in the background.
I took the above Go Away I’m Reading pic at my local Barnes and Noble and I’m tempted to grab this little sign next time I pop in. I think it would look nice sitting on my bookcase.
For this weeks MM post I am highlighting two books….
The publishers over @ HarperCollins always offer me some fantastic books. This time they provided a review copy of A Bookmarked Death: A Delhi Laine Mystery by Judi Culbertson.
The next book is more of a collectible for my shelves.
While at Barnes I couldn’t help myself and grabbed a copy of The Inventions, Researches and Writings of Nikola Tesla (Barnes and Noble Collectible Editions) by Nikola Tesla, Thomas Commerford Martin (Editor). After viewing a documentary highlighting his life and work, I’ve been looking for a book on Tesla for a while and this one just grabbed my eye.

The Nikola Tesla book looks good, although this one would probably be more for hubbie. His background is wireless electronics and he has more than once mentioned the ‘Tesla Theory’. I never had any idea what he was talking about to be honest, but now I do, after checking out Nikola Tesla from your post.
Judi Culbertson is a new name to me, but I quite like the sound of the first two stand alone books in the Delhi Laine series. The book you are featuring this week (4th in series), seems to be a follow on from book 3, which doesn’t make it quite so appealing, as you know how bad I am at keeping a series in sequence 🙂

Hi Yvonne, that’s funny that your husband mentioned the Tesla Theory before. I myself had no idea who he was until I saw a documentary on the history channel. When I called my son over to watch with me, he told me he already knew about Tesla and that he is his favorite inventor.
I accepted the Judi Culbertson book knowing it was a series book, but I hope it does well as a stand alone read because I cannot get into another series right now…lol.

The Nikola Tesla book is beautiful, Naida! I hope you enjoy the Culbertson book. I read her An Illustrated Death and enjoyed it.

The Tesla book looks really good.
I’m reading a really fun, witty English murder mystery now – The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie – featuring an 11-year-old girl who’s a chemistry genius who tries to outsmart the local detective when she finds a body on her father’s property.
