Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came in their mailbox during the last week. Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists.
Happy Monday everyone (well it is still Sunday night here, but I don’t think I’ll have much time to get on my computer tomorrow). I hope you are all doing well. Monday’s are always better when there are books involved right?
I actually spent most of this past weekend home crocheting and watching NetFlix. I have still been feeling unwell with the allergic reaction I’ve been battling since April 1st. It seems once I was done with the round of meds last week, the rash and the swelling on my face returned and became progressively worse throughout the day. Long story short, I had to make a trip to the emergency room last Wednesday night to get an IV put in with a Benadryl/Steroid concoction (not fun times). I’m now on a new round of meds and hopefully once I am finished with the pills next week, the stubborn reaction will have been knocked out of my system so I can finally feel better and get allergy tested.
Well, since I have been home from work since last week getting some rest, I was inspired to grab my hook and yarn and whipped up a little monkey. Thanks to Serena who shared this pattern link with me on Facebook. As soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted to make one. It was perfect timing as crocheting relaxes me and I really get caught up in the work. I am happy with the result, and the pattern was easy to follow. I figured I would display him here with my latest book acquisitions.
The Italian Divide: A Craig Page Thriller (Craig Page Thrillers) came via the publisher.
Pound for Pound: A Story of One Woman’s Recovery and the Shelter Dogs Who Loved Her Back to Life also came via the publisher.
Mr. Mercedes and Finders Keepers(The Bill Hodges Trilogy) are both books I purchased, because I am crazy and cannot say no to collecting Stephen King novels.
Tuesday Nights in 1980 by Molly Prentiss arrived via Amazon Vine, as did The Arrangement by .
Also in the mail, and e-book from Net Galley, just in time for National Poetry Month, The Complete Poems: Anne Sexton.
What books have arrived at your doorstep recently? Enjoy your week! xo

Hi Naida,
I love the cheeky monkey and know another little cheeky monkey who would also give him a good home – My 7 month old great nephew, Joshua James, is just beginning to work out what’s what in the world of toys 🙂
A week off work doesn’t sound like too bad a deal, but having to be ill to get it, really sucks!
I do hope that the massive steroid boost does the trick, at least so that you feel a bit more up to the tests which are going to follow …. Take Care and don’t go overdoing things when you are back on your feet 🙂
