R.eaders I.mbibing P.eril XI 2016

ripeleven302

Yay. It is Monday and I don’t mind it because of the 3 day weekend due to the Labor Day holiday. That gives me some time to enjoy blog land this morning.

I am a little bit late this year, but I will definitely be participating in R.eaders I.mbibing P.eril XI. It is tradition. I will update this post as I read.

About:
R.eaders I.mbibing P.eril XI takes place from September 1st, 2016 through October 31st, 2016.

There are only two expectations if you want to participate with us:

1. Have fun reading (and watching*).
2. Share that fun with others.

There are multiple levels of participation so that you can imbibe as much, or as little, as you desire/as time permits, and still consider yourselves a part of this community event….
This is the review site .

It is hard to believe I’ve been participating in this reading event for nearly a decade, but time flies when you’re having fun doesn’t it? I don’t usually make a list but I plan on reading short stories and also watching a few scary shows and films.

Authors on my mind are Poe as usual or a little Ambrose Bierce or Algernon BlackwoodThe Literature Network and American Literature.com are fantastic online resource for free classics. I am a fan of the classics and find it easy to read short stories online on my phone during my free time.

Are you participating in R.I.P. this year? What are you reading?

  1. I’m also participating in RIP again this year. So far I’m planning on reading the graphic novel “Monstress,” a Lovecraftian western called “An Oath of Wintersteel,” and an old Tanith Lee book called “Volkhavaar.” We’ll see how many others I get to this time around. 🙂

    Happy reading!

  2. I keep going back and forth about participating. I’m so challenged out right now. What I like about RIP though is that I already read those types of books anyway. And it’s always fun. It’s the linking back to my reviews that is always the challenge for me. It’s a great event and I hope you have a great time!

  3. So great to have you with us again. Crazy how fast time flies, isn’t it? Over a decade now. That does not seem possible.

I’m doing the same thing as you after a restful and fun Labor Day weekend, using part of this Labor Day Monday to travel around the ‘net enjoying the start of RIP 11.

Here’s to another great Autumn of reading and watching and enjoying all the season delights.

  4. Hi Naida,

I’m with Susan, in that time constraints mean that challenges are generally something I try to avoid, although I could so easily get caught up in them, when I read about all the great books featured by you regular participants!

Have fun and I look forward to sharing the books you select for this particular challenge 🙂
