Mailbox Monday: the classics

fullsizerender-9

Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came in their mailbox during the last week. Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists.

Mondays are my least favorite day of the week except when there are books and a day off work involved. On a recent trip out to Barnes & Noble in search of a new Nook charger I came home with another copy of a favorite classic. I couldn’t resist. It was just so pretty.

“My love for Linton is like the foliage in the woods: time will change it, I’m well aware, as winter changes the trees. My love for Heathcliff resembles the eternal rocks beneath: a source of little visible delight, but necessary…” -Emily Bronte

While at Barnes I also found a market bag that caught my eye. Perfect for carrying books and my current crochet project around. Seems the classics were a theme on this recent trip to the bookstore.

That’s all for now. Thanks for stopping in. What new books arrived at your doorstep?

  1. I love going to Barnes & Noble…usually I go there to read from my Kindle, while they’re selling Nooks nearby…lol. But I love the coffee shop part, and afterwards, often find a bargain book to buy.

I love the market bag. Thanks for sharing, and for visiting my blog.

  2. Hi Naida,

What’s not to like about this ‘pretty’ post – ?

Is it the day off work 🙂 –
That amazing little mailbox house, which any English postman wouldn’t be able to cope with ! –
The delicious new re-print cover of the classic (I wonder if there are more in the series) –
Or that fantastic shopper bag, and eco friendly too 🙂

That’s what I call a day well spent, thanks for sharing.

  3. Love all the pics! I’ve a few classic on my shelf but am ashamed to say I haven’t read them, yet. I want to read Wuthering Heights first because I’ve been hearing many great things about it and I’m curious. 🙂
