My Writing Space
I love my office and I think I have the perfect place in which to write. The windows along one wall invite the light to flood in and fills me with happiness. It’s the next best thing to being outside.
There’s such a warm feel to the room and that’s what struck me when I first saw the house four years ago. I looked at my friend and said, “I’ll have no trouble writing here.” And I haven’t. There’s an inspiring energy inside these walls as well as welcoming arms that seem to fold around me each time I enter.
I have lots of bookshelves for my personal research library as well as “how to” books and collections of books that stole my heart.
On one wall is an old early 1800s map of Texas. Above my desk is a Lone Star wall hanging that was given me by my daughter for Christmas. She didn’t even know at the time that it’s the name of the ranch in my Men of Legend series. Above that is a wooden Texas plaque made by a dear friend of mine who has so much talent.
You ask me why I surround myself with Texas. For one thing, my love for this state goes bone deep. It’s not just the place where I live. Texas is in my blood. Another reason is that it’s the setting for each book I’ve written so it makes sense to keep things close that inspire me.
My desk is large and actually belonged to my late husband. It’s scarred and nicked like an old soldier that’s been through battle, but I love it and I feel his presence with me—maybe glancing over my shoulder while I write. He was extremely proud of me.
One wall has closets that hold all my writing supplies and sliding doors to keep it all hidden away. It’s just perfect for my needs.
I don’t listen to music while I write. I need complete silence. It’s just me and my thoughts and each day my heart overflows with gratitude that I have such a wonderful place where I can be with my characters. My soul is at peace in this room.
I plan on writing many more stories here. Who knows how many before I stop. I’m inspired, happy and loving every second.

Whilst not a big fan of this genre, I do occasionally desire something different to read and this sounds like it fits the bill perfectly.
Loving the interview as well. It’s always good to read of how/where books came about/where written.

I do like a wee guest spot where you learn a wee bit more about the author and or their writing processes, this sounds like a different type of book for me, will need to keep an eye out for it.
Did you used to have a Stephen King project feature on here? I can’t see it or I am confusing The Book Worm with another blog.

I do enjoy a good guest post, rather than the more formulaic Q&A style of interview, and this one is so lovely.
Linda’s love for the place in which she lives, both State and home, just shines through in everything she says during her guest post.
I can’t see how this can fail to be reflected in the stories she tells and I shall look forward to reading your own review of ‘Knight on the Texas Plains’.
