Happy Tuesday everyone. This week’s TTT theme is Fall. This is my favorite season so this list was alot of fun to come up with. I am definitely a seasonal reader. I won’t read summer themed books in the winter or wintery books in the summer etc. I read with the seasons. I really enjoy Autumn, the vibrant colors, the cooler weather, pumpkin and apple picking, Halloween, Thanksgiving… it’s a cozy time in general. Here’s my list:
October 10: Ten Books With Fall/Autumn Covers/Themes (If the cover screams fall to you, or the books give off a feeling of being Fallish)
1. The Complete Poems of Emily Dickinson. My copy is well read. I like the way she wrote about nature.
2. Edgar Allan Poe: Complete Tales and Poems This one has a permanent spot on my shelves and The Telltale Heart is a favorite so is The Raven. Poe’s dramatic and intense stories and poems make for perfect Fall reading.
3. When I saw this copy of Wuthering Heights I had to have it for my collection. This dark classic is one of my favorites.
4. Different Seasons by Stephen King. This cover is very Fallish and the stories inside are perfect for reading on cool Autumn nights.
5. The Taking by Dean Koontz is a favorite read. This beautiful cover can be reminiscent of Fall with the trees in the background and the story starts off on an eerie rainy morning.
This is my autographed copy. I wrote to Dean Koontz after reading The Taking to tell him how much I enjoyed his work, I included a crocheted gift for him. To my total shock and delight he replied and sent me a personally autographed hardcover copy and a note. 🙂
6. I recently finished reading Trigger Warning: Short Fictions and Disturbances by Neil Gaiman and this cover is gorgeous and screams Autumn.
7. I haven’t read this one yet, but Elizabeth Chadwick has a series of books like The Autumn Throne: A Novel of Eleanor of Aquitaine that are on my wish-list. So are The Summer Queen and The Winter Crown.
8. I could never leave the Harry Potter series off this list. I read it twice. I want to go to Hogwarts and take Snape’s Potions class.
9. The Lord of the Rings series, beginning with The Hobbit scream Fall reading to me. Tolkien was a genius with his world building. Talk about a series to settle into on cozy Autumn evenings. I may have to re-read these one day.
10. Legends of the Fall by Jim Harrison has been on my wish-list for a while. I love the film version because, well, Brad Pitt.
That wraps up my list of books with a Fall theme. What books would make your list? Enjoy your day and enjoy the Fall season.

The beginning of The Hobbit also says fall to me. There’s just something about it, right?

Hi Naida,
I’m the exact opposite to you, in that I am definitely not a seasonal reader. If I like the look of a book, or the sound of the author, I will read the book no matter what the time of year.
Spring and autumn are definitely my favourte seasons, although I don’t have a preference for one over the other.
I haven’t read any Dean Koontz for years and I used to enjoy his books. The cover art for ‘The Taking’ really caught my eye, as it is something quite different for him?
Have a great week and enjoy your reading 🙂

Lovely edition of Wuthering Heights! I saw a beautiful pocket collection of Dickinson’s poems, and almost bought it, even though I already have her work. Pretty covers are so tempting! My TTT

I tend to read all sorts of books without matching seasons. With that, I think it is a good idea to match books with seasons. It can add atmosphere to reading and I should do more of it.
I love most of these covers especially the Wuthering Heights one. It is understated and beautifully simple.

Great list! I love autumn but alas, no four season for us over where I’m living. 😐
That’s a wonderful surprise from Dean Koontz! It’s always nice to hear from authors, even a thank you email to tell you that they’ve read your reviews. 😊

Harry Potter always makes me think of fall as well – I just finished listening to Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince on audio and I’m seriously considering just starting over and listening to it again before it goes back (I so adore these books). Great choices Naida!
