Hello everyone, happy Sunday. I feel like I have alot of updates to share, but don’t know where to start. Can you believe Thanksgiving is this week? What?! We celebrate at my mom’s house, she has the turkey and her rice and beans ready and I bring a few more side dishes so I did my shopping yesterday for my baking etc. I just cannot believe Thanksgiving is here.

I read alot this past week. I read Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover and my review will be up soon. There’s a pilot and romance and sadness and new beginnings. I also read Christmas at Conwenna Cove by the fabulous Darcie Boleyn you can follow the link for my review. I read that one as part of the HoHoHo RAT and really enjoyed it. I was inspired to make a few Christmas ornaments too.

I also finished up my Tunisian crochet cowl. I love Tunisian crochet. Like really love it. It’s as if you mix knitting and crochet and get this beautiful effect. I need more Tunisian crochet in my life. Otis always has to be in everything making himself cozy.

On a Netflix note, I watched Alias Grace. Has anyone watched this one? It is so good. It is based on the Margaret Atwood novel that is based on true murders and the housemaid who was accused.

Slow start, but by episode three I was hooked. “Based on the true story of Grace Marks, a housemaid and immigrant from Ireland who was imprisoned in 1843, perhaps wrongly, for the murder of her employer Thomas Kinnear.” This show has a way of getting under your skin and creeping you out. It is disturbing to say the least and it also highlights what the housemaids went through back then, especially when their male employers would decide to take advantage.

Also, I recently finished Stranger Things 2. It was so good, I watched slowly to make it last. Now I have to wait for Season 3.

With the holidays upon us, my blogging time will be limited. I have a review post coming up for Tails of Friendship on November 28th as part of a blog tour. Aside from that I will be reviewing Ugly Love hopefully later this week, maybe Friday. I will try to get my blog hopping in when I can. If not, I’ll connect with you on social media. I see several of my blog friends on Twitter, Insta and Facebook so that’s always nice to stay in touch that way.

And last, but I hope not least, my Halloween costume. I know a few blog friends asked to see it. Some of you know what I look like already, but this is supposed to be me 40 years from now I’d guess.

    Wow! You have packed so much into this post, that I don’t know where to start first!

    What you anticipate looking like in another 40 years time, is probably what you might think if you saw me today, although I sincerely hope not! Well, when a girl’s pushing 60 next year, I guess things aren’t going to stay quite the same any more, although in my head I won’t have aged a day!

    I love the little crocheted Christmas stocking, great for candy canes on the tree and i am off in a few minutes to check out Tunisian Crochet, which is something new to me. I know about finger knitting, but I came across a book this week which is full of arm knitting patterns. The finished effect was rather good, but for me I’m afraid there looked to be nothing particularly satisfying about the making of the garment, but it might be fun to try ..

    Cornwall is one of my favourite spots in the country, so any story set within its borders, is sure to be a hit for me, whether the exact location is real, or as in this case, fictitious. I don’t tend to read seasonally and only read womens fiction on an occasional basis, however Darcie Boleyn may be another author to add to my list and the cover art for her books is lovely also.

    • Hi Yvonne, thanks for the arm knitting video. I have heard about it before and it looks like fun. I really enjoyed the Darcie Boleyn book and would read her again.

  3. Thanksgiving did seem to come fast year. I think, at least where I live, that it is because it was such a warm fall that it did not seem like fall.

    I also wish that I had more time for blogging. There is never enough time.

    Alias Grace looks very good. I have not watched it. I would also like to read the book.

  5. Your Thanksgiving sounds like it will be wonderful! I’m still not sure what we will be doing. We usually go out to eat, just the three of us, but it may just be a movie day for us since we haven’t made reservations anywhere. I’m not big on Thanksgiving–Christmas is more the big event here. I wish I could say I’ve been reading a lot as of late, but it feels like I have hardly picked up a book. I love your Halloween costume! Have a great week, Naida. Happy Thanksgiving!
