I’ve been wanting to participate in Bout of Books for a few years now but I never seem to get my butt in gear and I nearly missed it this time again. Literally, I got home from work today, let the dogs out, tidied up the living room while my daughter told me all about her day and am now sitting at my computer typing my post up while the baked ziti I prepared is in the oven. I didn’t want to miss out.
I like reading challenges because I find them a great way to get motivated to read more plus it is a nice way to discover new book blogs.
Here are the read-a-thon details…
“The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda Shofner and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, January 8th and runs through Sunday, January 14th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 21 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. – From the Bout of Books team”
This will be my sign up post and I will update throughout the week as I read. I am on page 255 of 370 of The Duchess Deal by Tessa Dare. My goal is to finish that one up and then read one full book after that.
Challenges/Giveaways
**This is the overall list for the challenges offered during Bout of Books 21. Make sure you check the blog each day of the read-a-thon for instructions and details on how to complete the daily challenges**

Hi Naida,
This challenge sounds as though it is pitched just right, given that it goes on throughout what is for most, a working week, not too much pressure, just a bit of fun.
I decided that this year there would be no challenges … WRONG! I signed up for the Goodreads Reading Challenge, although with a very modest target and I got bamboozled by another blogging friend to sign up for the ‘What’s In A Name Challenge’, although I have yet to really study the detail too closely.
I have never really looked at Neil Gaiman’s writing too closely, although after reading the premise for ‘The Ocean At The End Of The Lane’, I can’t think why. I hope that you are enjoying the book and look forward to sharing your thoughts about it.

Hi Yvonne. It’s a fun one, I like the low pressure part of it. Hopefully this evening I can settle in and finish my Gaiman book. It is very good! I purposely didn’t read the blurb so I went in blindly, it came from the publisher a few years ago and I have been wanting to really make a dent in my review books so it was perfect timing.
The Goodreads Challenge is a must lol. I like keeping track that way too. I’ve seen the What’s In A Name Challenge around, it sounds familiar. Enjoy your reading challenges and your weekend!
