Sunday Post/Mailbox Monday 2/25/18: Books, Crochet and A Few Hot Book Covers

Happy Sunday everyone. This is the last Sunday in February, this month flew by so quickly. I don’t mind that, bring on the Spring! Typical Jersey weather, we had a snowstorm last weekend and then by Wednesday the temps were up in the 70’s which was so nice. Now it’s been a quiet, rainy weekend. I took these pictures last weekend on the day it snowed. It was such a pretty snowfall on a Saturday and the sun was shining bright. We took a drive out early afternoon and I got these shots.

I haven’t gotten as much reading time in this past week as I would have liked to but that’s okay. I will try to read more this upcoming week. Work is to blame, I’ve had to learn a new computer program since being chosen as part of a team project for the next several weeks and then working late nights has had me too tired to read when I get home. I also hit a reading slump in the middle of a thriller so I re-read Nights in Rodanthe, which helped me out of it. I have been crocheting alot though and watching the last of the Olympics in the evenings.

Onto my mailbox which contains some smoldering book covers this week. I am definitely on a romance kick lately.

My Lady Captor by Hannah Howell.
I like the sound of this one because she is the one holding him hostage…

Caught Up in a Cowboy (Cowboys of Creedence) by Jennie Marts. THIS is how you do a cowboy cover IMO. This is part of a book tour for Sourcebooks Casablanca. My review will be up on April 17th.

After reading the blurb, I just had to. I am hoping to find Spanish phrases and dialogue thrown in here.

Last week I purchased A Precious Jewel (Stapleton-Downes Book 2).
As soon as I saw the blurb I was interest in this one and I have been wanting to read more from Mary Balogh after I read one of her Christmas romances. I have high hopes for this one.

Currently Reading:

I’m in the middle of Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase which I purchased a while back. It is a good one and I am loving the back and forth between the strong heroine and the dark and moody hero. I am aiming to finish this one this month so I can start fresh for March reading.

Reviewed Last Week:

I re-read Nights in Rodanthe by Nicholas Sparks last week which was wonderful the second time around. So good. Re-reading an old favorite doesn’t disappoint.

Crocheting:
I’m still working on my neon colored pooled blanket and I am just about done with it. I also submitted two patterns to the Crochet Pattern a Day Calendar which has published my patterns on and off since 2008. The folks over there are so nice, I submitted a cowl pattern and this coaster pattern for the 2019 calendar. I am trying to get one more pattern submitted, I had an idea for wine bottle cozy. For every pattern you submit that gets published you receive a free calendar. There have been years I’ve gotten four calendars in the mail so I give them out to friends and family.
