Take Control of Your TBR Pile Challenge March 2018

take

Welcome to the Sixth annual Take Control of Your TBR Pile Challenge!

The rules are simple: for the entire month of March, you focus on reading/listening to books in your TBR pile released before March 1, 2018. They can be eBooks, physical books or audiobooks. Let’s clean off those shelves and finish those series and trilogies!

This is one of my favorite events as my to-be-read pile is often neglected. For those with a backlist of ARCs have no fear, as long as they have already published you can count them!

Kim is hosting the Take Control of Your TBR Pile Challenge and since I’ve been trying to make a dent into my TBR/for review pile since late last year, I figured this would be a good motivator to continue doing so.

Here is the stack of books I will be reading from. Even if I get at least two read that will be great.

1. An Almond for a Parrot-This is an AmazonVine book that I read a few chapters of several months ago then set aside. I will be picking this one up first.
2. Hold Back the Stars-This is another AmazonVine read that I need to get to and it sounds really good. If I can read these first two books in March I will be happy.
3. The Girls in the Picture-This one was acquired from LibraryThing. It is longer so I’m not sure, but who knows if I am caught up with the first two, then I can try for this one.
4. This Too Shall Pass-This is another LibraryThing book. I’m on the fence though since the reviews aren’t so great and I don’t want to risk another possible reading slump. It’s a shorter book however at just under 200 pages, so it will be faster reading.

Are you reading along? Which books are in your TBR/review pile that you would like to get to soon? Happy Friday, it’s a snowy/slushy one here yet again! It seems winter is not ready to leave us yet.

  1. Have fun with the challenge. You have some very interesting looking books on deck and I look forward to your upcoming posts. For my part I have given up on trying to clear up book piles. I just read what I feel like reading next.

  2. I’m afraid that I am sitting on the fence with the titles you have waiting for you, as none of them really grabs my attention. I hope that you manage to clear at least a couple from your stack though.

I am in the process of culling some of the books I have added to my shelves over the months and years and just know that I am never going to get around to reading. They will all be heading down the charity shop, where there seems to have been a serious slump in donors dontaing paperback fiction for us to sell.

I love the latest crochet work and I am hoping that you will share a closer look when it is finished 🙂

    • I do want to read at least two since they are review copies, so I am hoping to get to those. I do the same, I donate them so I don’t have too many books on my shelves just sitting there unread. I will share my crochet, that is a cowl I just finished up actually.
Happy Sunday Yvonne and happy reading!

  3. What a wonderful challenge! I am sort of doing this as I’ve put away my library card for a while to focus on my books. I hope you get a chance to read more from your stacks!
