Good morning everyone. Popping in this morning to get my Read-A-Thon post up and running. I took an unexpected blog break these past couple of weeks; just the regular everyday stuff, work, my kids, the nice weather beckoning me. We even took a drive out down the shore last weekend. I also finished up two books during this time so that was good. I will be playing catch up this weekend on blog land.
Well, it is Read-A-Thon time, good luck to all who are reading today! This is my main post so I will be updating it as I read during the next 24 hours.
Here is the opening meme. Feel free to answer in the comments, on your blog, on Twitter, or wherever you’re sharing your reading today.
1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today? New Jersey
2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to? I am reading Earl Interrupted (The Daring Marriages #2) by Amanda Forester
3) Which snack are you most looking forward to? I’ve got a bag of plain Lays and a can of Coke calling my name for later.
4) Tell us a little something about yourself! I’m a mom, a wife and I love to read and crochet.
5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to? I’ve been participating for many years and I always enjoy the hourly updates and challenges and meeting new bloggers. I always manage to read one book during this event, so that is what I am aiming to do today.
updates:
1:26pm Otis and I read a few hours this morning and into the afternoon.
It is absolutely gorgeous outside today so I sat outside and read a little while out there too. Earl Interrupted by Amanda Forester is good so far, there’s romance and pirates.
I brought my book along to read while waiting in the car at the pharmacy.
Final Update:
I read up to 79% of Earl Interrupted by Amanda Forester on my Nook yesterday. I passed out around 10:30pm-ish. I think I did pretty good, as the paperback version is 384 pages. I’m hoping to finish it up today so I can round it up to 3 books read for April.
Happy reading everyone! xo

It seems that a lot of people are participating this year. I always say next year but next year I will really make in effort. Otis looks ready and enthusiastic. Have fun with the Readathon!

Thanks Brian, it is fun to play along. I don’t read all night, my eyes just can’t focus anymore at that point but I do get a good amount of reading in during the whole day and usually manage to read at least one full book.
Enjoy your weekend!

I find that my eyes get far too tired if I read for any length of time these days, then I tend to find myself nodding off, which is not a good look during the day!
I have never really felt tempted by any of the many ‘readathons’ which are now in circulation, but I think your book in a day sounds like a very sensible target.
At least you and Otis got to spend some quiet time together 🙂

I also get tired from reading for too long. Plus, I lose attention pretty easily or everyday distractions and obligations will pull me away from my book. I try to read as much as I can for the read-a-thon and it’s a nice way for me to get a chunk of reading in. Yes, Otis is usually by my side when I am home…lol.
Enjoy your weekend 🙂
