The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog…
Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came in their mailbox during the last week. Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists….
Good morning everyone and happy Sunday. I’ve been a little bit MIA on blogland lately, I hope to catch up and do some blog visiting this week. I have missed you guys. I also need to catch up on my emails. I am kind of afraid to look, that’s how backed up I am on reading and replying.
This gif sums up these past two weeks for me:
It started with a nasty head cold last weekend that had me in bed home sick from work by Tuesday. I’m feeling better but still not 100%. Sitting in a very air-conditioned office all day does not help one’s cold at all. Plus yesterday I got stuck working a full day 9am-5pm overtime so that has me behind with errands etc. since Saturday’s are usually my day for that. Today is my one day off this week.
It has been so rainy here these few weeks but finally this weekend is gorgeous, sunny with the temps just right about high 70’s to 80 degrees. I haven’t decided what I will do today since it is so nice out, I may leave my grocery shopping for tomorrow after work and take a nice drive out somewhere today to enjoy this end of summer weather.
Onto my mailbox….
Look how fantastic! I love this colorful cover. The Vampire Knitting Club: A cozy paranormal mystery series arrived via Partners in Crime for a November 7th review and an author interview on the 9th as part of a virtual tour. See tour details here.
At a crossroads between a cringe-worthy past (Todd the Toad) and an uncertain future (she’s not exactly homeless, but it’s close), Lucy Swift travels to Oxford to visit her grandmother. With Gran’s undying love to count on and Cardinal Woolsey’s, Gran’s knitting shop, to keep her busy, Lucy can catch her breath and figure out what she’s going to do.
Except it turns out that Gran is the undying. Or at least, the undead. But there’s a death certificate. And a will, leaving the knitting shop to Lucy. And a lot of people going in and out who never use the door—including Gran, who is just as loving as ever, and prone to knitting sweaters at warp speed, late at night. What exactly is going on?…
Also, I went to Target and bought my copy of The Governess Game: Girl Meets Duke because I am a big fan of Tessa Dare and I loved the first book in this series called The Duchess Deal. If you are looking for great regency romance with strong sassy heroines and humor in the plots, look no further than Tessa Dare. You can thank me later 🙂 I’m pretty sure I will read this in one sitting. I can’t wait.
The accidental governess
After her livelihood slips through her fingers, Alexandra Mountbatten takes on an impossible post: transforming a pair of wild orphans into proper young ladies. However, the girls don’t need discipline. They need a loving home. Try telling that to their guardian, Chase Reynaud: duke’s heir in the streets and devil in the sheets. The ladies of London have tried—and failed—to make him settle down. Somehow, Alexandra must reach his heart . . . without risking her own.
The infamous rake
Like any self-respecting libertine, Chase lives by one rule: no attachments. When a stubborn little governess tries to reform him, he decides to give her an education—in pleasure. That should prove he can’t be tamed. But Alexandra is more than he bargained for: clever, perceptive, passionate. She refuses to see him as a lost cause. Soon the walls around Chase’s heart are crumbling . . . and he’s in danger of falling, hard.
Coming soon on the blog: Book reviews for Needful Things and Message in a Bottle are on my to-do list. I also have a book blast scheduled to post this Tuesday for The Found Child by Jo Crow.
Binge Watching:
I’ve been binge watching episodes of scary stuff based on real events like Evil Things and A Haunting then I walk around my house afraid of my own shadow lol.
Crocheting:
I’ve been crocheting alot and I finished up a poncho which I really love. It’s still too warm out to wear but I have to take a pic of it finished. I used Loops & Threads chunky yarn and it is very cozy. It worked up pretty fast since the yarn is thick.
I am still plugging along on my corner to corner blanket. Corner to corner is a very cool technique which you can do so much with. I am about halfway finished with this. I want to make another one after, and showcase the technique differently with the colors, maybe make one side one color, then the other side another. I am still slowly but surely stocking up on my future etsy shop which I hope to open in a few more months. I won’t put pressure on myself with that, I’ve been using up the yarn I have already and taking it from there.
My son brought me that Niagara Falls mug from his recent road trip out there. He got some wonderful shots as well while out there of the beautiful Falls.
Well, that wraps up my updates for now. Thank you for stopping in. Tell me what you are doing and reading and watching. Enjoy your week! xo

Sorry to hear about your cold. I hope that you feel better ASAP. It reached 84 degrees Fahrenheit here on Long Island today so my wife and I went to the beach. We just cannot let go of summer yet!

I have never come across author Jo Crow before, however both her books are heading for my ‘Want To Read’ list immediately! ‘The Found Child’ sounds like a pretty intense read.
‘The Vampire Knitting Club’ isn’t one for me, as I don’t read paranormal stories as a rule. However, the cover is cool and the thought of being left a wool shop in someone’s will would be my idea of heaven. Having a shop which is half wool and half books, would be even better of course – And Oxford is a beautiful City, steeped in history!
I love the crochet work you have been doing during your absence from the blogging scene, especially your ‘corner to corner’ blanket. Do you have any updates on your ETSY shop yet?
Have a lovely week and I hope that you feel better and back to your old self very soon 🙂

Hi Yvonne, Jo Crow definitely seems like an author to add to a to-read list. I think inheriting a wool/book shop would be like winning the lottery.
I don’t have updates on my shop yet, but I will keep you posted. I only have a few cowls made up so far, but I want to add more and I want to get a few patterns typed up and ready as well. If only there were more hours in the day!
I am feeling much better, thank you and enjoy your weekend.

I hope you are feeling better. Something is going around my office, and I am hoping I can avoid it. Our office is always so cold! I hope work calms down some for you so you can properly rest. Isn’t Niagara Falls beautiful? I love it there. And I love the history of the area.
I hope you enjoy your new books! Take care of yourself.

Sounds like you had a productive Crochet week! I love the colors on that one. Corner-to-Corner sounds like it could be hard, but anything with yarn scares me. I’ve tried and failed many times to knit. LOL
I hope you enjoy the rest of your week.

Corner 2 corner sounds like a fun way to crochet. One of my WIP’s is crochet, but a simple DC beanie that I’ll add a matching pom pom to it. I hope you’re feeling better now.
