The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog…
Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came in their mailbox during the last week. Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists….
Hello blog friends, can you believe January is coming to a close already? Not for nothing, but good riddance, that means Spring and Summer are each a month closer.
It’s been a pretty quiet week around here, which is a good thing. I had strawberry ice-cream yesterday because screw you Winter.
January was a good reading month for me, I read 4 books. Aside from one crochet pattern book I will post about next month, I have decided to read and review nothing but romance related books for the month of February since I have several on my TBR mountain that I want to get to.
Recently on the blog:
I posted my thoughts on The Exorcist by William Peter Blatty which was wonderfully terrifying and is now a new favorite in horror.
In My Mailbox:
Crochet in a Day: 42 Fast & Fun Projects arrived through NetGalley and Rowman & Littlefield.
“Looking for a quick crochet fix? Crochet in a Day has 42 sure-to-please patterns that can all be started and finished in a day or less. From wearables like cowls, hats, slippers, and even a poncho, to home items like place mats, dish cloths, and baskets, every item will crochet up fast…”
Nocturne for a Widow (Sybil Ingram Victorian Mysteries) (Volume 1) was a free Nook e-book.
“The ghost may be the least of her problems… Vivacious actress Sybil Ingram looks forward to a life of security when she leaves the theater in 1873 to marry a wealthy American. But when he dies on their wedding night, she finds herself a penniless widow. Her only legacy is Brooke House, a Gothic revival manor in the wilds of the Hudson River Valley. However, the eerie mansion comes with two tenants. One is a hostile ghost. The second, and far worse, is former violinist Roderick Brooke–the most insolent, dangerous, maddeningly gorgeous man she’s ever met….”
Crochet-wise I finished up a couple of pot-holders for my sister-in-law. One is Tunisian the other regular crochet.
That wraps it up for now. What was your week like? What are you reading/watching/crafting? Enjoy your week!

I am also looking forward to warm whether. Ice cream is good all year round. I am driving spiked White Hot Chocolate at the moment. All such things are good 🙂
The Hudson Valley is a great place for a ghost story. Even if the ghost is friendly.

Hi Naida,
The colours in the random yarn you are using are so pretty together – good ice cream colours maybe? 🙂
I am not really into ghost stories, so although I am very much a fan of Victorian mysteries, this book probably isn’t one for me – but I am loving the cover art!
As for how quickly January has passed us by, I don’t really want to think about it, as it is just too crazy!
I hope that you enjoy your romantic February 🙂

Ice Cream works year round… but I see what looks like cocoa too. 🙂
Reading romance is certainly suitable for February. I’ll have to consider reading some.
Crochet in a Day: 42 Fast & Fun Projects looks like one you could get hooked on. (Sorry – I couldn’t resist.)
Happy Reading!

We have ice cream in our fridge as we got tired of Costco’s selection (Haagen Das and such). That crochet book looks fun to browse through and to try a few patterns.
