Happy last Sunday in April. That was fast. It has been a quiet few weeks around here. I am still slow on my reading but my current read is a good one, so hopefully I can finish that up this week. Also of note, we had free ice-cream at work this week for Bring Your Kids to Work day which was nice. Here’s mine:

Watching:
I’m still watching The Act which airs it’s last episode this Wednesday. I’ve been hooked on this one.

Crocheting:
A baby blanket for my niece who is due in a month or so so I need to hurry it up….

Misc:
I am enjoying the Spring, we’ve had some nice warm days, some cooler ones and alot of rain. The flowers and trees are blooming. I took these photos recently on a walk at a park near us.

  3. Nice pictures. Ice cream at work is always a good thing. We had Dairy Queen where I work last week to celebrate a growth milestone.

    April did go fast but I am glad that it is spring.

  4. I love that cover for Evidence of the Affair. I really need to read more Taylor Jenkins Reid. The last book I read by her really drew my attention, and now her Daisy Jones and the Six is calling to me as well.

    Hard to believe April’s almost over already.

    You have featured two great books this time in ‘Evidence Of the Affair’ and ‘Far Side Of The Sea’, both of which have very high performing ratings and reviews. As if I need any more books on my TBR list !!! 🙂

    The baby blanket looks beautiful and it is surprising how hand knits and crocheting for babies have come right back in fashion and are being kept as family heirlooms again. I quite like the close weave stitches, as they always add more texture and warmth to the finished piece.

    Easter weekend saw the temperatures soar almost countrywide, here in the UK – more like summer in fact!! However this week has seen some very mixed weather and yesterday storm Hannah passed through, with winds of 80 or so MPH, so that has put a very definite end to the spring flowers and blossom, which had been looking so good!

    We did manage to fit in a visit to the National Trust Badbury Bluebell Woods, (known locally as Badbury Clump) which, because they are so sheltered by all the beautiful golden beech trees, survived the windy onslaught and should still be spectacular all through May.

    I didn’t take any pictures (hubbie did, but I’m not sure how to transfer them), but it really did look this good …

    A gradual improvement is expected during this week, but pictures like the lovely ones you shared, are going to be few and far between.

    • Hi Yvonne, happy to share the book titles. The baby blanket is finished. I will post a pic. I wanted to make sure the stitches were more closed that way, to make it warmer.

    • Far Side of the Sea is a good one. I hope you enjoyed Phoenix, it seems like a great collection of poetry.
      Thank you, I finished the blanket yesterday. It was easy switching colors, I’d just pick up and drop off alternating colors, so there was no cutting the yarn or weaving in loose ends of yarn.

  16. My gosh remind me of me with all your projects. I can tell that you are a flexible person that has enough things going on that depending on your schedule you can fit one or another in. Let me know if I’m wrong. For me the trick is not feeling guilty if I can’t do everything at once which of course I cannot. Acceptance is always the answer. Love the blanket. I have this idea I’m going to learn how to sew. I’m committing to learning the summer actually. Right now I am finishing up Fablehaven, a YA book my son wants me to read. Also about to start a new book by Elizabeth Gilbert. (that’s one that I want to read and won’t take me three months to get through LOL)

    • Thank you 🙂 I try to make time for my crochet projects, because it is therapeutic. Yes, you can do everything all the time, there aren’t enough hours in the day. I definitely go with the flow.

  17. I’ve been unable to eat a lot of things due to stomach issues for the past few weeks and your ice cream looks incredibly delicious to me now! And that blanket is completely lovely 🙂

    • lol no, not any longer. I used to bring them to work years ago, they are grown now.
