Sunday Post/Mailbox Monday 5/5/19: This and That

sunday (249x249)mm
The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog…
Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came in their mailbox during the last week. Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists….

I am moving in slow motion on this rainy Sunday morning. Another busy week has flown right on by and now with May here, my seasonal allergies are in full swing. I didn’t get too much reading in this week, my eyes have been to tired to focus from staring at the computer at work pretty much all day. Lately, by the time I get home I just cook dinner and put the tv on and settle in with my crochet. I am also slower than usual on blog hopping. Thank you all for always stopping in and commenting even though I don’t always get back to the comments and visits as soon as I would like to.

Onto my bookish updates…

I’m still reading Far Side of the Sea by Kate Breslin. My goal is to finish it this week.

Watching:
The Act on Hulu is over and it was intriguing and sad. I also watched the Ted Bundy film on Netflix “Extremely Wicked“. I don’t know. I felt it was very vague and a bit confusing with the timeline as far as what Bundy did. It focused alot on his relationship with his girlfriend Elizabeth Kendall and on how their relationship was affected once things started coming to light and he was arrested. Zac Efron does a great job at portraying the serial killer and I know he said in an interview he didn’t want to glamorize Bundy, so maybe that is why they glossed over much of it. I was left feeling that the movie could have been done differently.  Not that I want to see horrific acts on screen, but I found they just kind of mentioned the murders in hindsight for the most part of it. The ending scene was really good, but aside from that I was a little bored. Have you watched it?

Crochet-wise:
The baby blanket I’ve been working on is finished. This was a sweet project to work on and I like the pinks.

Lastly, we went for margaritas and Mexican last night which was really nice. I like mine frozen with salt on the rim….

  1. We have those weeks sometimes. What’s important is that you take care of yourself. If you’re interested…one blogger I follow is Field Lilies who is an amazing crocheter. I thought of her for you since you do post about your crochet. Your baby blanket is great in those shades of pink.

  2. Hello Otis! 🙂
I’m with you, I feel like I’ve been struggling with all things blogging but it’s just life busy-ness getting in the way. Can’t wait to hear what you think of your current reads. Do you have another crochet project already started?

    • I know, there just aren’t enough hours in the day. I had some cotton yarn so I started up a shrug freehand, if it doesn’t work out the way I am imagining, I will make a summer top with it instead. I love the drape and color. Enjoy your week!

  3. I am not doing all that much this weekend as I am also tired out from a long work week. I also have been reading as a slow pass as my current book is very dense and I also some home very tired from work.

    The Margaretha looks good.

    Say hello to Otis!

  4. Naida,

The new baby blanket looks so soft and is simply adorable! I haven’t watched The Act or Extremely Wicked, or much of anything lately on TV, except for a few episodes of Tidying Up with Marie Kondo, which inspires me to clear out clutter and reorganize our stuff. Otis is such a cutie!

Reading wise, I hope your week ahead gives you more time to read. I’m now in the habit of reading a chapter or two just before I go to sleep.

    • Thanks Susan, the baby shower was last weekend and she loved the blanket. I can’t wait to meet the new baby when she arrives soon.
Tidying Up with Marie Kondo sounds good, I need to de-clutter as well.
A chapter or two before bed is a good idea and a nice way to unwind. Enjoy your week!

  5. We have another rainy week expected. It was nice over the weekend though so I’ll use the rain as an excuse to read 🙂 Well done on the baby blanket!

  6. Unseasonably warm here over Easter holidays, the pollen count was high so yes sore eyes and a runny nose was the order of the day. However back to what feels like winter here in the north east of England, I guess on the plus side at least the pollen count is low.

  7. I want a margarita! I’m already falling asleep tonight – it would do me in. I almost packed it in and went to bed before dinner. The baby blanket looks great! I’ve been holding up well against the allergies this year. Have a wonderful week with some amazing reads!

    • mmmm margaritas….
I know, some nights I am in bed so early my kids will make fun of me for it. No shame in it lol.
Thanks, I had fun crocheting the blanket.
      Have a nice week too.

  8. The cover of Dark Blossom looks lovely despite the genre. And that pink baby blanket looks so lovely! And hello to Otis, too!
