The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog…
Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came in their mailbox during the last week. Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists….
I cannot believe that September is halfway through. It is flying right on by. I am enjoying the change of weather and some of the days still feel very summery. I didn’t read as much as I wanted to this past week. I was so busy at work that I just kind of watched TV and fell asleep early most nights. And I wanted to see the Harvest Moon on Friday night but I totally missed it. Did you see it?
Onto my weekly updates…
coming soon:
I finished reading The Tower of Songs and I will have my review up this week.
in my mailbox:
My copy of The Institute by Stephen King arrived this week. Yay.
My Little Crocheted Christmas: Festive Projects to Make the Season Bright arrived via NetGalley/Dover crafts and I can’t wait to crochet something festive. I looked through this pattern book and it is sooo cute.
Also, Fraterfest is coming from Thursday October 10th through Tuesday October 15th. Click here for more details. I’m not sure what scary book I will read for this yet but I am looking forward to reading along.
watching:
I finished watching Murder Mountain which is a documentary on Netflix that is pretty interesting. It is about Humboldt County California and the marijuana industry there.
That’s all for now. Enjoy your week! What are you up to?
Here is Otis after the groomer recently. He cracks me up. He is used to going to the groomer and his groomer tells me Otis is easy to work on. He is a long haired Chihuahua but I do prefer the short coat on him.

I agree that time is going by way too fast. It used to creep by when I was younger. I wish that it would slow down a bit.
I am curious about the new Stephen King book. It would be a good read for the coming Halloween season.
Otis looks handsome after his grooming!

Hi Naida,
My nan always said that time passed by more quickly the older you got, and boy was she right! But then, you aren’t helping matters by sharing Christmas books – it’s all too Soooon 🙂
We are enjoying a real ‘Indian Summer’ this last week, which looks set to continue into the short term future. I got treated to a surprise day out at the coast which was lovely, followed by a meal in our favourite Italian restaurant. My hubbie is the best 🙂
Finishing the weekend off with a late summer BBQ at my SIL’s place, which will be nice too!
The Harvest Moon was really spectacular under clear skies.
Dogs who have been recently groomed always crack me up, they look so different and always somehow so pleased with themselves. I have never seen an ear trim that looked so spectacular though!
‘The Tower Of Songs’ sounds like an unusual and interesting read, so I look forward to your review.
Have a good Sunday and coming week and Happy Reading. The Stephen King book sounds just right for your challenge read in October xxx

Hi Yvonne, the Christmas books are out so early I know lol. I have another one in my mailbox for next week’s updates.
Enjoy Indian Summer, we’ve had some of that here too lately. The Italian dinner and the day by the coast sounds wonderful!! Enjoy the BBQ too.
Yes, Otis looks pleased with himself after the groomer and sits still for me to take his photo lol. It’s like he knows.
I have two books to review this upcoming week and The Tower Of Songs is one of them.
Enjoy your weekend!

I’m loving the changing weather too although this weekend went back to summer temperatures after having a really chilly week which was just weird. Autumn is my favourite. 🙂
I’m looking forward to Fraterfest too!

This week is supposed to start cooling down. And we may even get rain by the end of it. We did manage to see the Harvest Moon. It was so beautiful, especially early on. Oh, look at Otis! He is so adorable. I hope you are enjoying the weekend and have a great week, Naida!
