Sunday Post/Mailbox Monday 9/29/19: Goodbye September

sunday (249x249)mm
The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog…
Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came in their mailbox during the last week. Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists….

Hello everyone. Poof! Just like that, September is just about over. Here comes October and for me, this is when I feel that Fall has really arrived. We have had some beautiful weather these past two weeks. It is still warm and it has been in the upper 80’s but in the mornings and in the evenings it cools down. And we’ve had nice breezy days, Fall is definitely in the air. I love the foliage colors this time of year as the leaves turn vibrant colors.

  1. The only way it feels like fall here is that the days are shorter. It’s still in the 90s with 70s at night. They’ve promised us some cooler weather this Saturday!

Let it Snow looks like a sweet holiday book. I hope it’s a good one.

  2. It has also been warm here on Long Island. I would actually be happy if the warm weather would continue. As you are receiving Christmas books I am thinking that before we know it, the Christmas season will be upon us.

  3. Hi Naida,

The temperatures have just started to fall away over the past couple of days, so we spent today cleaning and packing away fans, ready for next year!

We managed to celebrate my great nephews 4th birthday last Saturday, with a party in the park and can’t believe how kind the weather was to us!

I have spent most of today frantically trying to catch up on outstanding emails, as a faulty laptop power supply
blew all the electric in the house several times before we could eliminate it down to an individual piece of equipment! Just managed to source a replacement power supply that has a good safety write-up, so I am now back in business after almost a week!

I am aiming to post a review of ‘False Step’ by Victoria Helen Stone this evening, then I need to catch up on a few regular meme posts, so wish me luck.

You have quite a diverse range of new books to feature, so I hope that you are enjoying ‘In At The Deep End’, which certainly sounds different 🙂

    • Hi Yvonne, glad you had a nice day at the park with good weather. That’s a cute age.

Ugh, computer issues are so annoying. Glad you got it straightened out and good luck catching up plus with blogging.

In At The Deep End is funny, I’m hoping to review it this week.
Have a great week ahead! 🙂

      • Update!!

Unfortunately a new power supply couldn’t really solve all the problems my laptop had succumbed to, so I arrived home tonight to find that hubbie has surprised me with a brand spanking new HP machine with a mega sized screen. Still trying to get used finding my way around it, especially the very compact keyboard, which is proving a bit of a tough nut to crack.! Love you Mr. G 🙂

  4. Oh I’m jealous of your weather. We’re still experiencing very hot temperatures. I have not been watching AHS but I was curious about this season. I’m imagining a lot of music from the 80s 🙂

I like the looks of your Christmas books. I’m going to read horror this month and then I will be ready for Christmas holiday reading.
I hope this is a good week for you!

  8. I’m not ready for tomorrow to be October. It’s too soon! I am hoping the cooler weather we’ve had the last couple days will stick around though. I hope you are enjoying your reading. Have a wonderful week, Naida.

  9. Our weather here has changed, too. Though we don’t get to experience Fall, this time is the monsoon season so we get lots of rain. At least it’s not so hot like usual. Enjoy your books, Naida!

  10. September was super crazy at work, so I’m hoping we start slowing down a bit this month. I haven’t been watching much TV but this theme for American Horror Story sounds like it would be right up my alley. 🙂
