Sunday Post/Mailbox Monday 2/19/2023: Book updates and GOT

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came in their mailbox during the last week. Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists…

Happy weekend, I hope this post finds you well. Another week flew right by. Work was still busy but less stressful so that was good. And yay for the 3-day weekend. I’m fully remote now through March so I’m glad for that.
Otis had a quick tech visit at the vet for one more vaccine he was due for. He definitely thought we were going for one of our regular drives since I bring him with me for quick errands or to grab lunch, Starbucks..etc…so when I pulled up at his vet parking lot and he saw where we were he immediately started complaining lol. He knows the vet parking lot even though we don’t go there too much he still remembers.

Onto my bookish updates…

recently on the blog
Nothing! But I am reading two books so I’ll have a few reviews up soon.

in my mailbox:

I had money left on my Amazon gift card from Christmas so I ordered Invisible Girl by Lisa Jewell.

Also in my mailbox this week, I saw this sweet TikTok of a daughter who created an account for her father. Her dad wrote a book called Stone Maidens back in 2012. He spent 14 years writing his book and hadn’t really had many sales until the TikTok went viral. Now the book made it to the Amazon best sellers list. I grabbed an e-copy.

I keep repeating myself but oh my gosh, I just can’t. Season 6 was awesome. Episode 9 “Battle of the Bastards”. Oh. My. God. I actually re-watched that battle scene again afterwards. And after the battle Jon Snow walking towards Ramsay Bolton as he shot arrows at his shield. Also, I LOVE that Dany made Tyrion the Hand of the Queen. She’s got those dragons under control now, they’re full grown and she’s on her way with her army so. Cersei seems unstoppable now that her son is gone so I’m really curious to see what will happen. That was crazy how she blew up that entire Sept. Those religious fanatics were pretty terrifying, and I can’t believe they brainwashed her son like that too. Winter is officially here and I’m on season 7 now. Gahhhh! Jon Snow is Ned’s nephew!!!!!!!!!!!!! Plot twist! And Arya kicking ass and taking names later you go girl! She singlehandedly took down Walder Frey and all his men.

This is my 2023 mood blanket in progress so far. White represents tired. I like the way the colors are coming along.

That wraps up my updates for now. What are you up to? Watching? Reading? Enjoy your week ahead. 🙂

  1. Haha Lulu loves the vet, anywhere she can see people and other dogs and get attention. She also loves the car rides. So is your mood blanket a row a day? It looks too long to be a row a week? Yay for staying home. I think February has been slow but it’s going to end quickly. This feels like the middle of the month but really it’s 3/4 of the way through.

    • Otis loves the car rides too but he’s very picky about other dogs.
Yes, my mood blanket is a row daily so it’s coming along pretty fast. I feel like February flew by this time thank goodness.
      Happy reading this week!
