Good morning and happy Monday. Hmph WordPress editor finally forced the upgrade on me and it sucks. It took me a while to even figure out how to write up this post. Why is everything inside of blocks? I’m sorry if this post looks a little off today until I get the hang of the new editor. I have no idea how to size the images. I know some HTML coding so that helps.
My updates post is a day late, but I’m off today for the 3 day weekend so I figured I’d log on this morning to chat. Another week has come and gone and after a 3rd round of bloodwork I’ve been put on steroid pills for one full month. Yuck! Sorry, I know so far this post is all complaining. Onto the brighter side of things, Fall is coming and I love this time of year. We spent yesterday at the farm upstate NY that we like. We drove up early to be there as soon as they opened and avoided the crowds which was perfect. No apple picking for us this year though, we don’t want to risk being near people like that.

Onto my bookish updates I hope because this new editor thing is no bueno….depending on your browser there should be a link allll the way at the bottom of this post that says Page 2 to continue reading the rest of this post…..it’s all the way down in small print so it’s hard to find (thanks WordPress) underneath the rates, likes, share… etc. or if you’re viewing from your phone it should be easier.

Good morning and happy Sunday. I hope this post finds you well. I have been very M.I.A. these past few weeks. Just life in general, very busy with long work-days and I’ve had some health issues these past few weeks so that always makes it harder to get into a relaxed frame of mind for things like blogging. I’ve had some kind of allergic skin reaction…again…and this time it’s a real mystery. I took a round of steroid pills which did not help. Then I had blood-work done and that came back fine and two skin biopsies which I’m still waiting on results for. It’s not fun being unwell and not knowing the cause of it but I’m hoping to get some answers soon. Anyway, weather-wise we’ve had some very hot days but I can feel the weather turning now and it’s nice and cool in the mornings and evenings with September around the corner. My parents are coming over today so we’re bbq’ing for them and eating outside which will be good to see them and catch up a bit. We are still doing the same here with social distancing and as of now I’m not due to go back to the office until maybe on a rotating schedule in October.

Onto my bookish updates….

Hello August and day 127ish of working from home. Summer is flying right by quarantine and all. I’ve been on stay-cation this past week which was nice. I just lounged around the house and went for walks and was brave and went to outdoor dining for lunch on Friday. I keep seeing outdoor dining and it looks too crowded but we were able to find a quiet spot and went as soon as they opened so we were the only ones there.  What does outdoor dining look like in your neck of the woods at the moment?

Good morning all. I can’t believe July has nearly come and gone. I hope you are doing well. I’ve not been on blog land much lately, between work and everything else sometimes it’s hard to find time and motivation to blog.
Not much happening here thankfully just the usual. The weather has been very hot and humid and in the high 90’s lately. I’ve been watching tv and crocheting alot inside with the air conditioning. For now I’m still working from home for over 100 days which I’m grateful for. I actually started going to the office for a few hours on Saturday mornings when it’s empty. It’s weird going back after so long and feels very odd working alone, it feels surreal. Usually there’s 18 people in my department and a few hundred in the building during normal life pre-quarantine.

My husband is back to work now with social distancing from his co-workers and wearing masks but it still stresses me out to no end. He got tested just to be extra careful since he’s been back to work and it took over 14 days to get the results back, negative thankfully but that’s a long time to wait on results.

Anyway, we still go for walks often early in the day to avoid people, below is a pic I took recently at the park.

Sunday Post/Mailbox Monday May 24, 2020: May The Force Be With You etc.

Good morning, Happy Memorial Day Weekend. I hope you are doing well. May has come and is nearly gone so quickly. We’ve had a stretch of nice weather here which is supposed to continue with this upcoming week. It has been really nice in the 60’s and 70’s.

Today marks day 63 of Quarantine. The governor has eased restrictions here just in time for Memorial Day weekend and I think it’s a little too soon so we are still home. On Friday during my lunch hour we took a drive out and passed by the local state park near home which has been re-opened. Already around noon there were alot of people walking and biking in the park and I only noticed 2 people wearing masks as we drove through. I also noticed with the amount of people walking around that most were not social distancing as they passed by each other closely. We didn’t get out of the car but I was surprised almost no one had masks on when the entrance rules clearly state please wear a mask when visiting. I hope cases don’t spike in upcoming weeks but I find it incredible how some people are very lax about this whole thing.

Well, that’s enough of that…I had a good week and I am grateful. I baked Nutella cookies using a co-worker’s recipe. They are delicious and have a soft cake-like texture. Interestingly enough the recipe calls for ricotta cheese but you don’t taste it. They were a big hit here at home so I am going to make another batch soon.
