Happy Sunday all. This past week flew right on by. Today the temps are supposed to hit 60 degrees and tomorrow 70 so the warm weather is definitely welcome. I will be taking a nice walk later today at the park to enjoy it.

I have a busy upcoming week so I know I won’t be posting an update next Sunday, but I will be back after that. I finished up The Outsider this week which was excellent and I enjoyed the last couple of chapters while eating handmade chocolates my husband surprised me with. Books + chocolates = bliss. I had to refrain from eating this entire box in one sitting. He knows I love those handmade chocolate turtles which have cashews and caramel. Those are my weakness.

Oh boy, March has arrived. This is the longest coldest month ever but at least that means Spring is in sight. I’m back on my blog this weekend dusting off the virtual cobwebs. I went MIA for a few weeks last month due to long work hours and just daily life in general. February was a very busy month. I’ve been putting in 9 and 10 hour work days at the office. I got into a small fender bender last month but no one was hurt and my car is fixed already actually. I went to a concert which was amazing as usual and on my days off I’ve been trying to just rest and recharge. I hope you are all doing well and I will be blog hopping now and catching up.

Onto my bookish updates….

poetry (158x210)
I popped in this past week and posted for Serena’s Poetry Reading Challenge . I aim to post a poem the last Tuesday of each month this year.
Ask Me Why I Love You by Walter Everette Hawkins was my pick for February.

Goodbye January and hello February. It’s been a crazy month. Everyone in my house came down with something in January, with the exception of myself. Knock on wood. My son even tested positive for the flu a few weeks ago. He’s recovered now. I’m also surrounded by sick people at work and again, fingers crossed, I’ve managed to evade whatever has been making the rounds.

It has also been such a sad week with the news of Kobe Bryant and his daughter and the other people who passed away so tragically. We’re a basketball watching family here so it hit home. Even though you don’t personally know celebs, when they pass you still mourn them. It’s been a reminder of how fragile life is and to tell our loved ones how much we love them daily. We’re not promised tomorrow.

Onto my bookish updates….

Happy last Sunday in January. Goodbye January and good riddance, that means spring is getting closer. Can you tell these long, cold winter months do not impress me? I need the sunshine and warmth to thrive.

Good morning and happy Sunday. January came around so quickly. We had a quiet New Years here, we ordered Chinese food for dinner on NYE and watched the ball drop on tv.  I took the Christmas tree down on New Years Day since I was home. I feel that January through the end of March are the longest three months of the year. These are cold and dark winter days but at least they make for good reading and tv binge watching time.
