Happy Sunday all. After a very rainy Friday, we are having beautiful Spring weather this weekend. This is my kind of weather in the 70’s, it gives me more energy. This week flew right on by again. And I was busy with the usual Saturday errands and housework yesterday so I skipped the 24 Hour Read-a-Thon this time around. I just couldn’t fit it in like I had hoped to. Hopefully I can do the Fall one. I did get some good crocheting and film watching in this past week which was nice.

Onto my updates…

I reviewed The Disgraceful Lord Gray (The King’s Elite #3) by Virginia Heath. This was fun historical romance and left me with a smile on my face. I recommend it.

Happy Sunday everyone and Happy Fall. With the first day of Fall arriving here yesterday this weekend definitely has that sweater weather vibe to it. A big change from the upper 80’s from last weekend. I took the photo above one October a few years back. There is something to be said about the beautiful colors the Autumn season brings with it.

It has been a nice weekend at home watching movies and crocheting for the most part. I’ve been very lazy since Friday evening and I make zero apologies for it. I am feeling much better and kicked that head cold finally, it lingered for a little while there.

Also, thank you all for always stopping in and reading my posts and leaving thoughtful comments even when I am slow as ever returning visits and comments. I appreciate it.

Sunday Post/Mailbox Monday June 3 2018: Crochet, Books and The Walking Dead

I am moving in slow motion this morning. It’s already almost noon and I am just getting this post ready. Oh well, it’s a lazy kind of Sunday. I can’t believe June arrived so quickly. We’ve had humid and rainy days here plus high temps in the upper 80’s this past week. It’s not bad though, I prefer this over the bitter cold and snow.

It has been a busy work week but that is to be expected. My 45 minute or longer work commute turns into an easy 20 minute drive once schools are out for the summer so that will be very nice soon. And vacation isn’t too far away now so I am counting down the days. I cannot wait to wake up in the cabin right by the lake. That view and the serenity there are what we look forward to every year. It’s the best of the lazy summer days. We have our morning coffee in those Adirondack chairs. There is something wonderful to be said about not being on any set schedule and just lounging around. My parents got hooked on this place as well so they vacation with us in the summers here, our cabins are next to each other.

Every Other Weekend by Zulema Renee Summerfield arrived via AmazonVine this week.

“A debut novel about an imaginative girl in the year following her parents divorce, and what happens when her creeping premonition that something terrible will happen comes true in the most unexpected of ways.

The year is 1988, and America is full of broken homes. EVERY OTHER WEEKEND drops us into the sun-scorched suburbs of southern California, amid Bret Michaels mania and Cold War hysteria, with Nenny, a wildly precocious, nervous nelly of an eight-year-old, as our guide to the newly rearranged life she finds herself leading after her parents split….”

Sunday Post 4/8/18: My weekly updates and Mother Nature is very stubborn this year

Happy Sunday everyone. I hope you are all doing well. I can’t believe it is time for Sunday updates already, this week flew right on by. It started off with a snowy Monday morning just in time for my work commute with around 3-4 inches of snowfall. The consensus around here was “Again?”.

It has been a cold and brisk weekend, but the sun is shining and I do hear the birds chirping even as I type this so I know Spring is in the air. Once it is a little warmer I like to get out and take care of my garden that has been neglected all winter.

Onto my updates….

If it’s in a word. Or it’s in a look. You can’t get rid of … The Babadook

My thoughts:
I am a big fan of indie films. Some of my favorite films are independent and you can find me many a weekend watching an indie film on Netflix with my latest crochet project in hand.
