The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog…
Happy Sunday everyone. Wow, this is the last Sunday in March. For it being a long month, that flew by. It has been another hectic work week but the end is in sight, I should be back to my regular schedule this upcoming week. Yay! Thanks all for your nice comments these last several weeks on that.
Can you believe we had another snow storm here this past week and another snow day? I know it is winter and we are supposed get snow but I am hoping that is the last of it for the season. Being home on Wednesday was nice though and I settled in and read a few hours on and off so that was good. I am over the cold and dreary early morning rides to work. This was Thursday morning. I want warmth and sunshine.
This past week on the blog I posted my thoughts on Louisiana Catch by Sweta Vikram which I thought was very good.
I’m currently re-reading Pet Sematary by Stephen King.
At over 500 pages this book will be the 3rd book I’ve read for March if I can finish it up by the end of this week, which I totally should. Funny enough, yesterday evening I settled onto my couch to read a few chapters after I put dinner in the oven. I was fully immersed reading as Louis Creed was up at the Indian burial ground when my daughter yelled from her bedroom “Ma! Is dinner ready?!!” Oh my god, I just about jumped out of my skin at the sudden noise because I was so into the book. I told her please no sudden movements or loud noises while I’m reading Stephen King. lol.
TV-wise, I’ve been watching The Men Who Built America: Frontiersman on the History channel. It is really good. I watched the last season which featured Rockefeller, JP Morgan and Carnegie among others during the Industrial Revolution, but I like the frontiersmen stories better. They feature Daniel Boone, Lewis and Clark and Davy Crockett as well as other historical figures and they also talk about the horrors the Native Americans went through as the United States continued to acquire territory.
This one is really worth a watch especially if you are into history. Leonardo DiCaprio was on the production team which I thought was pretty cool, I know he is an advocate for Native Americans rights. It is also fascinating to think about what unsettled America looked like during this time period.
Crochet-wise, I finished up my color pooled 1980’s blanket using Red Heart Neon Strips a few weeks back, this is the end result. I took photos of it on the snow of course 🙂
I also had wine at happy hour after work with my friend this past week. And that about wraps it up for me. How was your week? What are you reading/crafting/watching/doing? Enjoy your Sunday. xo

Sounds like a lovely week, including wine with friends. A lovely wrap-up to the week. Hope spring comes soon for you.
Enjoy your books…thanks for sharing, and for visiting my blog.

The blanket looks beautiful and such vibrant colours. Is this one going towards your ETSY collection, or is that definitely only going to be a made to order service?
Various weather pundits have been threatening us with a third ‘Beast From The East’, for Easter weekend, which we can definitely do without! By contrast, today has been a lovely, no coat necessary, kind of day.
Hubbie managed to smash the screen on his Samsung during the week and as the contract was coming to an end anyway, today’s first stop was the mobile phone shop. So he now has a new model which he is trying to suss out and transfer his apps etc. across.
We also went to a close by National Trust property, where we had a lovely stroll in the sunshine and a cuppa in the tea room. Given that it isn’t Easter until next week, the place was packed with people enjoying the weather.
It is due to rain for much of the week, so this all made a good respite, even though we lost our one hour sleep, when the clocks went forward into Summer Time. I did manage get to bed a little earlier last night to try and compensate, but I can feel another early night creeping up on me tonight also, just until my body clock catches up!
Have a good week and Happy Reading 🙂

Hi Yvonne, thank you, that one will be made to order because it is alot of work and I don’t want to have a few just lying around if they don’t sell. It was fun to make though.
Ugh, phone problems are a pain so I hope you got it all straightened out. I hate going to the phone store. There’s one in the mall by us and it is always swamped with people, always. I don’t get it. You have to wait to be helped.
The walk out sounds very nice. The weather here yesterday and today has been brisk but sunny and Spring is definitely around the corner finally.
I like how everything starts to bloom in April. I start cleaning out the garden and getting to seeding in mid-April and early May. It’s relaxing working on the garden.
Hope you had a restful week and happy weekend!

We got about a foot of snow on my part of Long Island. Hopefully that is it for the year.
It has been a long time since I read Oet Cemetery but I remember it vividly. I remember really liking the Rock references.

I think that is it for the year, hopefully. I enjoyed re-reading Pet Sematary this week, it was scary.

I can never really read horror because I’m such a scaredy cat, so I always admire those who can. Also, that’s such a beautiful thing you made! I’m almost inspired to pick up my crocheting again.

Oh man, the movie version of that King book had freaked me out back in the day. I can’t take horror movies and books. It was cold here for us in the east bay, the last of the wet weather w/out the wet I guess. We’re supposed to get some low 70’s this coming week.

Yes, that movie creeped me out too, the book is worse. I hope you get some warm weather and good reading time. 🙂

Still snow days are nice for reading. 🙂 The Frontiersmen show sounds interesting, and I’ve often wondered too how different America must have looked before it was all developed. All that wilderness… it’s pretty fascinating.
Have a great week!

Our weather is all over the place. I can’t believe the amounts of snow some folks got. I am getting ready to do a listen of Pet Cemetery. I read in years ago and imagine it will be creepy.

Your blanket looks awesome against the snow. I bet it came in handy with the weather you guys have had. We have had to turn on the A/C already! Too funny about the King spooky moment. Did you ever watch the film? I never got to read Pet Cemetery but maybe one of these days! Have a wonderful week and maybe another glass of wine with a friend to celebrate going back to your normal work schedule!
