My thoughts:
First off, Merry Christmas to those who celebrate and I hope you are all enjoying the holidays with your loved ones. I thought today was a good day to post my thoughts on this crochet pattern book.

Lindsay Smith has created twelve patterns inspired by the beloved classic story, The Nutcracker.
What I like here is that the patterns are easy to follow and the presentation is very well done. How cute are these little holiday themed creations? The characters are introduced before each crochet pattern with snippets from the book, which I thought was a nice touch. There is a Technique section at the end of the book to help guide you as well.

There are patterns for Godpapa Drosselmeier, Christmas presents, The Nutcracker, Sugar Plum Fairy and more. I made a Gingerbread Man and turned him into a Christmas ornament. The pattern was simple to follow and the instructions were clear.

Overall, Crochet Stories: E. T. A. Hoffmann’s The Nutcracker by Lindsay Smith is a nice crochet pattern book inspired by The Nutcracker.

    I hope that you enjoyed your Christmas celebrations. We spent the day with my family, including our 12 week old great nephew and my nintey year old father, so all in all, a fantastic day.

    As most of the country outside of the retail and hospitality sectres, have a total of 4 days holiday this year, we are hosting my sister-in-law and her husband tomorrow.

    I probably wouldn’t think to crochet items like those featured in your latest pattern selection, as I mostly make things for resale in the charity shop and we are legally no longer able to retail hand made items which do not conform to EU regulations, including the visible CE labelling, which it is almost impossible to obtain without stringent testing.

    Your characters would make unique decorations for your own personal Christmas tree though, that is if you are intending to make the full set?

    A nice seasonal post and a relaxing way to spend your holiday time, thanks for sharing 🙂

    • Hi Yvonne, it sounds like you are having a wonderful Christmas with family. That’s the best part of the holidays when it brings family together.
      I know you have mentioned the regulations over there concerning handmade toys and items.
      I won’t be making the entire set, I made the gingerbread man this time and placed him on my tree. I had been working on a stuffed bunny for my niece which I will post this upcoming week on my mailbox monday.
