Really Random Tuesday: etc

ReallyRandomTuesday

Appearing on random Tuesdays, Really Random Tuesday is a way to post odds and ends–announcements, musings, quotes, photos–any blogging and book-related things you can think of. I often announce my book giveaway winners in these posts….The lovely Suko hosts RRT.

Happy Tuesday everyone. I hope you are doing well and have been enjoying some good books.
I have just finished reading The Idea of Love by Patti Callahan Henry which was nice contemporary romance. I hope to have my review up soon.

I’ve also been busy crocheting and was lucky to get a review copy of Edward’s Menagerie – Birds: Over 40 Soft Toy Patterns for Crochet Birds . I will be including pics of my finished bird with my review.

I also was offered a review copy of Dinosaur Amigurumi by Justyna Kacprzak. How cute is that?

Now that Autumn is upon us, I have been enjoying the beautiful weather and scenery.
I took the photo below a few weekends ago. I love this time of year as the weather is changing and you can see signs of Fall appearing. I find it so relaxing going out for a walk or a drive and snapping away with my camera.

I’ll leave you with a little Passenger, one of my favorite music artists. I’m a sucker for those folksy/indie rock artists. The music just makes me happy.

That covers it for now. What are you up to? What are you reading?

  1. Happy Tuesday, Naida! Thank you for this RRT post. I also “approve” it! Otis is too cute for words. I will listen to the Passenger song soon. I hope you have plenty of reading time this week, Naida. 🙂

  2. I really like the cover of The Idea of Love. It sounds like you have been keeping busy–and having fun in the process. 🙂 I enjoy folksy/indie rock music too. Our weather has been so up and down. I will be glad when autumn finally gets here. Have a great rest of the week!

  3. Not only do I come away from here having discovered some new books titles/authors but also wishing that I’d learnt how to crochet all those years ago as you feature some of the most amazing and creative things.

  4. Hi Naida,

I already have ‘The Idea Of Love’ on my ‘Want To Read’ list, as it has been recommended to me by a couple of my regular blogging friends, who have left some glowing reviews. The fact that I also love the cover art, has nothing pertinent to do with it 🙂

I am still bust crocheting Afghan blankets to be sold in the charity shop and MIL is busily knitting dolls clothes as well as contributing her own crocheted blankets! All the items seem to be selling really well, although we wouldn’t be able to sell any of the stuffed animals and birds you feature this week, as trading standards will only allow us to sell items with a special CE label, which confirms that all materials and stuffing conforms to EU regulations!

As with my books, I have quite eclectic tastes in my music choices also. ‘Passenger’ is a new artist to me, but I watched your video clip, then checked them out and decided quite early on, that I really like their music.

One of your favourite UK bands, Mumford & Sons, have been touring all over the place this year, including at a couple of the really big outdoor festivals. Their popularity here at home, seems to suddenly have taken off.

Thanks for sharing all your news and for the lovely pic. of Otis. I hope that all is well with you 🙂

  5. Hi Yvonne. sounds like you and your MIL are busy crafters. I can imagine your works are gorgeous. I like the look of knitted items. Yes, I remember your mentioning the regulations. I used to sell on ETSY and it is pretty lenient here in regards to selling stuffed toys.

I have heard Mumford & Sons are on tour over there. 🙂 They do a great live performance.
Happy week to you and thank you for stopping in.
