The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog…
Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came in their mailbox during the last week. Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists….
It is another cold and windy Sunday by me and I am more than happy to be spending it inside in my pajamas today. This was a good reading week for me, I participated in the Bout of Books read-a-thon and I finished up the Tessa Dare book plus I read The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman. Thank you all for cheering me on. 🙂 My reviews will be up this upcoming week. I like that my reading year is off to a good start. I still have time to at least read one more book this month, hopefully two.
In my mailbox this week:
Survive the Night (Rocky Mountain K9 Unit) by Katie Ruggle came via Sourcebooks/NetGalley.
The dog on the cover called my name so I requested this one. Looking at the author’s website, I think she has got a knack for a good book cover. I like it. If the writing is good I will hopefully be reading more of her work.
“K9 Officer Otto Gunnersen always had a soft spot for anyone in need. As Monroe’s very own Dr. Doolittle, he dedicates himself to rehabilitating the injured souls that cross his path—but for all his big heart, he’s never been in love.
Until he meets Sarah Clifton’s haunted eyes. Until he realizes he’ll do anything to save her….”
We visited the Met Museum this weekend, one of my favorite places in New York City, and while there I grabbed a copy of Creative Inspiration: Van Gogh. Their store has an impressive selection of art inspired books. This one is a collection of the artist’s sketches with his quotes as well. I’ve decided I will read one quote per day.
Also, I’m in the middle of pooling Red Heart’s Zebra yarn to make a cowl. I wanted a small project to work on for now. It’s coming along nicely.
I will close with a few photos I took at the museum. Happy weekend. What are you reading? I’m not sure what I will read next.

Great photos! I’ve been noticing Katie Ruggle’s books…and must try one.
I am tempted to stay in PJs all day…but I do want to see the movie The Post. I wonder which side of me will win?
Enjoy your week!

Hi Naida,
The cold, wet and windy weather left over from your last East Coast storm, is working its way across the Atlantic and most parts of the UK, this coming week, although Scotland is kindly going to be taking most of the snow for us!
My niece and her partner are heading over to New York in February for a long weekend, although I think she visited The Met the last time she was there. I love your pictures and the book of art combined with quotes is a great idea. Just right for opening one page a day, or week, depending on your schedule.
I also think the cowl is looking good, although I would probably make it using the randomness of the wool as it comes and I admire your patience and expertise at pooling the colours.
Happy Reading in the coming week 🙂

Hi Yvonne. I hope the weather isn’t too bad by you. We are expecting snow tomorrow again here. That’s nice that your niece is going to NYC for a trip, I love the city, there’s so much to see and do there. I was just browsing the Met store and that book caught my eye and I had to have it.
My cowl is nearly done, I’m happy with the yarn choice. I’ll post a pic next week. The pooling is so relaxing, it gives the crochet work a little something extra since it’s a little more challenging.
Enjoy your week too 🙂

Days like that are best spent indoors. 🙂 I had to go out today and it was so cold I just about froze. NOT a fan lolol. Anyway I’ve never to the Met, but one of these days…

The Met is a great place to visit. It has been awhile for me. I need to get there again soon. I have also been spending a lot of time indoors. I have not gotten enough reading done though. I have spent too much time in front of the television.
