The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came in their mailbox during the last week. Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists….
Hello and happy weekend. I hope this post finds you well. This week flew right by. It’s because I was off work and enjoying myself. I managed to read and review two books while I was off. I even changed my blog header and profile pic to match with flower photos I took myself.
I also made time to bake homemade chocolate chip cookies for my daughter to bring to her co-workers last week. She got me the Ghost Adventures potholder for Mother’s Day this year. It’s one of our shows we like to watch together. It says “there are things in this kitchen you will never understand”. 🙂
Onto more bookish updates…
Recently on the blog:
Since I was off work for two weeks I had time to actually blog and read two books. Both were NetGalley books so win win with chipping away at my shelf there.
Neon Gods: A Scorchingly Hot Modern Retelling of Hades and Persephone (Dark Olympus Book 1) by Katee Robert
Knit of the Living Dead (A Knit and Nibble Mystery Book 6) by Peggy Ehrhart
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Also of note, there’s still time to enter the giveaway of Sarana and the Dark King by Ivy Keating and a $10 Amazon E-Gift Card. Follow the link for details.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
In My Mailbox: (both from Amazon Prime reads)
After having read and enjoying Knit of the Living Dead I grabbed a copy of the first book in the series, Murder, She Knit (A Knit and Nibble Mystery Book 1).
The Haunting of Brynn Wilder by Wendy Webb

Watching:
I think I turned on the tv maybe twice this week since I was off and spent my time reading instead or being outdoors. We did watch the new episode of the new AHS season on Thursday night, which is really good. I like the New England setting.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Crochet:
I’ll post pics next week. Hint: It’s Nightmare Before Christmas related.
I’ll close with a few pics of our day trip to the sunflower maze and antiquing this past week.
We found an old church that has been turned into an antiques shop, both cool and creepy. I just KNOW there’s paranormal activity there at night.
This painting of E.A.P. instantly caught my eye, it’s beautiful.
The sunflower fields. It was a beautiful sunny day for it and the drive out there is scenic. There was plenty of room to maintain social distancing so we felt comfortable.
That’s all for now. Enjoy your week ahead and happy reading. Let me know in the comments what you’re up to.

Sunflowers are my favorite, or one of them. I love going to fields of them. My daughter, not so much — she screams anytime she sees a bee. I love that portrait of Poe. That would have come home with me.

The sunflowers are unique …I love seeing them in the fields like that too. Lol about the bees! I don’t blame her. And I was so tempted with that Poe painting.
Happy reading this week.
