Good morning and wow people, it is the last Sunday in July. Summer always goes by so fast. I’m actually on stay-cation for a little now while which has been nice and relaxing.

I love not having to wake up early and rush rush rush. Always rushing. Rushing to work, rushing home, rushing to appointments…it’s exhausting. I’ve de-cluttered my closet, I’ve been lounging around the house, getting in the pool when I feel like it, reading and crocheting…it is great not having a set schedule. We’ve been doing day trips here and there as well so I’ll share pics at the end of this post and next week’s updates post too.

I’m actually almost finished with Goodbye Paris by Mike Bond. This is a review book and I’ve been breezing through it.

in my mailbox:

Cuddly Crochet Critters: 26 Animal Patterns by Megan Kreiner who is an animator at DreamWorks Animation is in my mailbox this week. I am so excited about this one that arrived via Dover Publications. How cute do these patterns look.

Watching:
I’m still watching Ancient Aliens which is great for binge watching. Those Mayans knew everything. They knew all the secrets. Also, I’ve been catching up on another favorite The Dead Files .
And now I’m missing Big Little Lies since season 2 is over. I really enjoyed both seasons. Renata is my favorite, Laura Dern is fantastic. And Meryl Streep oh my gosh, so great.

I’ll close with pics of a recent day trip. We went antiquing and it was a beautiful day spent walking in a small town that’s a little over an hour drive away. We walked around and looked at different shops and boutiques and we stopped for lunch at the cafe in town. This small town is known for the antique shops so there’s plenty to see.

I’ve seen enough scary films and read enough Stephen King to make this woman’s storefront the stuff of nightmares lol. Located off on a side street, once inside there was so much, including plenty of mannequin heads lined up along a staircase. This woman lives here as well as it being her shop. I could never. Imagine waking up in the middle of the night to use the restroom and seeing so many mannequins? No thank you. Just look at the top left window with the curtain just lightly open. It was a pretty cool shop though and I would definitely visit again. The owner was really nice.

This house was nice and a little strange because from the front entrance you’d never guess there is this staircase leading to two more floors upstairs. This old house is huge but is set in between two other buildings. I could hear vintage 1920’s music coming from up these stairs. It was almost like stepping into another time. Those old stairs were very creaky.

Once upstairs my daughter found a little vintage picture frame here for $2.00. Antiquing and thrift shopping is her “thing”. She has a knack for it.
